Summary

Every fortnight, Chichester Area Talking News (CATN) produces an hour of local news which is recorded on USB memory sticks and mailed to more than 300 blind and partially sighted listeners, and is also available on our website and the BWBF App and Alexa. The service is for blind, partially sighted and other disabled people in the Chichester, Bognor Regis, Midhurst and Petworth areas – that is to say the areas covered by the three editions of the local 'Observer' newspaper – from the coastal towns and villages as far north as the Surrey border, east to Yapton and Walberton, and west to Emsworth. Founded in 1975, CATN has provided a service to blind, partially sighted and other disabled people for 46 years. The news is taken mainly from the local newspapers and the service is provided entirely by a team of volunteers who also produce a quarterly magazine called 'Insight'.
