Corinium Talking News (CTN) is a voluntary organisation that produces
a weekly 80-minute CD recording of local news articles covering
Cirencester and the surrounding villages, and taken from the Wilts and
Gloucestershire Standard. They also provide a monthly magazine CD
containing a range of interesting articles and chat.
The CDs are delivered to blind and partially sighted listeners free of
charge via the Royal Mail's Articles for the Blind scheme.
Both the news and magazine recordings are also published on the
British Wireless for the Blind Fund app (www.bwbf.org.uk:
http://www.bwbf.org.uk/) so they can be listened to via mobile phone
or smart speaker.
Volunteers for CTN record in teams every 5 weeks for the news CD and
every 2 months for the magazine. Teams consist of readers, a recorder
and an editor and they all enjoy getting together to produce what they
hope is an interesting, informative and fun recording.
