Wealden Talking News is a registered charity producing weekly memory sticks of news and features taken from the local papers and four monthly magazines, free of charge for the visually impaired. It produces 4 editions of news each week covering a wide area of East Sussex – Heathfield & District (including Battle & Wadhurst with surrounding villages), Crowborough & Uckfield, Hailsham & Polegate and Seaford & Newhaven. Each week the news and features are followed by a magazine. These are; Sussex Life, Listeners’ Sussex, The People’s Friend and Richard’s Audio Magazine. Richard’s magazine celebrates 30 years of publishing (in August 2019) and is researched, recorded and presented by Richard Foster. Richard was blind from birth and has a special insight into the needs and interests of the sight impaired, giving him a unique and special relationship with his many listeners.
