Soundings’ Christmas content offering is almost complete, so don’t forget to check tnfsoundings.org.uk for quality, free seasonal articles to supplement your local material.
On offer are Christmas cost saving tips, poems, a festive quiz, a seasonal recipe, a Christmas story from the First World War trenches and even some Christmas cracker jokes. You’ll also still find our regular mix of news and features alongside the seasonal content.
Still to come are this year’s Christmas and New Year listings for radio and audio-described TV. We will make these live as soon as possible. Please note that apart from the listings, our volunteers will be taking a well-earned break over the festive season and no other content will be added to Soundings between 18th December 2023 and 2nd January 2024.
For TNs who can’t carry the Radio or Audio Described TV listings every week, or are not publishing after the Christmas listing will be released there is a new service available whereby listeners can access the latest listings themselves by calling 03000 400 292. This is charged at the cost of a local call, and we would recommend you use something similar to the wording below to advertise it:
If you would like to hear the listings for weeks where we don’t publish, you can telephone 03000 400 292 to hear them. Calls to this number are charged at the normal landline rate or be deducted from any inclusive minutes you may have. For specific charges, please check with your telephone provider.
Lastly for 2023, there will be a short outage to the TNF Soundings website on evening of the 19th December whilst essential maintenance is carried out. This will not start until after 9pm and should be completed overnight. There is a small possibility that there may be a short period of instability or slow response on the 20th December while work continues. We recommend that TNs who require content on the 19th, 20th and 21st of December download that content prior to 9pm on the 19th. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
We’ll be back in January with more Soundings content – but, sadly, the popular Infoshorts articles won’t be continuing in 2024 because Infosound are moving away from producing their weekly updates.
