The Presenters are June Little & Luke Howarth
June Little who is currently the Chair of Trustees of The Cotswold Listener and also a TNF Trustee.
She has been with the TN for the last five years increasing the numbers of both Volunteers and Listeners and introducing policies & processes to ensure the smooth running of the TN. June’s background is HR so uses her knowledge and experience of organisations.
June has developed a generic template that can be used by any TN as while we all do the same thing, we all do it differently. However, there are a number of things that every TN has to have in place to ensure we are compliant with the law such as GDPR etc and with the Charities Commission. Not everything in the template will apply to your TN but there will be enough to start discussion amongst your Trustees.
Luke is one of the TNF Trustees as well as Chair of Pendle Talking Newspaper. After losing his sight in his late 20’s, Luke has dedicated his life and career into being an advocate for the disabled. Holding positions in various organisations; Volunteer Manager, ECLO, Sensory Services Manager, Eye Care Champion working in the health, social and charity sectors is what he has done for the past decade. He currently is a guest lecturer at his local university, is CPD accredited to train Optometrists/Opticians on the importance of Low Vision Support, offers private assessments focusing on early intervention within support services trauma and does various charity work amongst local/national not for profit organisations. Working collaboratively with others, bringing everyone together to offer the best service possible through strategic planning is where his passion lies.
Through his experience, he has developed a service framework from the listeners perspective which is easy to use and will create discussion within your TN of what may or may not need adapting to offer a flawless service
